TAMPA, Fla. – South Georgia Tormenta FC goalkeeper Pablo Jara snagged the USL League One Fans’ Choice Save of the Week for Week 10 of the league’s inaugural campaign as his one-handed reflex save against Greenville Triumph SC last Saturday night saw him claim his third weekly award of the season.
Jara earned his league-leading sixth shutout of the season against Greenville, with his save midway through the second half key to Tormenta FC earning a point from a scoreless draw on the road. A low cross from the right was met by Max Hemmings at the near post, but Jara did enough to turn the effort over the crossbar and keep the hosts off the board.
Jara’s save earned 46 percent of the poll conducted online at USLLeagueOne.com that concluded on Friday morning. Greenville Triumph SC’s Dallas Jaye finished second with 37 percent for his reaction save to deny Tormenta FC’s Michael O’Sullivan, while FC Tucson’ Philip Ejimadu was third on 17 percent for his fingertip save that kept out a free kick by Orlando City B’s Rafael last Friday night.
