STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC has partnered with Lee Hill & Johnston Insurors in Statesboro to highlight figures throughout the organization. Each week through the end of the 2020 season, Tormenta FC will showcase a different player or coach on the club’s official social media pages with ten profile questions.

Tormenta FC kicks off this profile series with Mikie Rowe, who is in his fourth season with the club and hails from Wexford, Ireland.

1. What’s your greatest soccer achievement or memory?

My best achievement is winning the NCAA DII national player of the year in my senior year at Young Harris College. My best soccer memory is my first professional goal in front of my visiting family last year. Celebrating that goal is a moment I will cherish forever.

2. Who is someone who inspires you?

My parents inspire me because of their selfless nature towards others and especially their children. They constantly prioritize the well-being of others above their own and that’s an incredible trait to have. If I become half the person/parent in the future that they are, then I will be doing well.

3. What’s something that makes you unique?

I play golf cack-handed (I hold the club with my right hand on top instead of my left), and I still manage to beat Marco Micaletto by about 25 shots every round.

4. What's a hobby you have outside of soccer?

I would have to say golf. I used to go golfing every summer with my Grandad growing up, and it kept going from there. He still gives me a few lessons here and there when I'm home.

5. What would you sing at Karaoke night?

Suspicious Minds by Elvis Presley. An all-time classic that I somehow manage to perfect the deep notes each time.

6. What’s your biggest pet peeve?

My biggest pet peeve is when people play music that they don’t like in front of their friends to fit in rather than what they enjoy themselves. There's no shame in loving a bit of late 90s Britney Spears.

7. What was the last movie you watched and what did you think of it?

Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifinakis. Two hours of my life I will never get back. The less said the better. The last movie I saw before that was The Hangover about 10 years ago. World Class.

8. If you had a slogan for your life, what would it be?

A wise man once told me “If your chance doesn’t come, you’ll be upset. If your chance arrives and you’re not ready, you’ll never forgive yourself.” And by wise man, I mean myself; is there any way I can get my quote published on google images?

9. If you could live anywhere, where would it be?

Campile in Wexford, Ireland. There's no place like home, and it's a little village with so many unbelievable people throughout. No matter where I have been, the support I get from people back at home is unreal and something I will never forget.

10. What is your favorite meal to cook?

My Mam’s specialty Chicken Curry because it's the only meal I can cook.
