STATESBORO, GA. – South Georgia Tormenta FC has announced the signing of defender Daltyn Knutson to its 2023 USL League One title-defending roster on a performance based contract, pending league and federation approval. Knutson returns to Tormenta FC after three years with League One side Union Omaha.
Knutson returns to Tormenta FC after helping Omaha obtain its first League One title in 2021. Knutson appeared 70 times for Omaha across all competitions, providing a goal and three assists.
Knutson was a part of the Union Omaha team that made a historic run to the Quarterfinals of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup in 2022, the farthest any League One team has gone. Omaha knocked out Major League Soccer sides Chicago Fire in the Third Round and Minnesota United in the Round of 16 before falling to Kansas City in the Quarter-Finals.
Knutson featured for Tormenta FC in our inaugural 2019 season where he made 21 starts in USL League One.
“I’ve always appreciated how Tormenta’s organization has supported and treated me like family from the start. It’s exciting to head back to Statesboro to join the team and defensive unit once more.”
