STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC’s Kazaiah Sterling, Pedro Fonseca and Tobias Otieno have been named to USL League One’s Team of the Week, presented by Konami eFootball, for Week 24 of the 2023 regular season.
Sterling was the lone player in Week 24 to accumulate three goals, and he also won a pair of penalties, created three chances, won 11 duels, seven fouls and four recoveries.
Fonseca recorded two goals, and across two Week 24 matches, tallied six recoveries, three duels won and completed over 80% of his passes.
Otieno’s production has continued in his second season in Statesboro. The back-to-back League One champion registered one assist to go along with his 11 duels won, 10 recoveries, seven fouls won, three blocks and 81% passing accuracy.
After a busy Week 24, Sterling, Fonseca, Otieno and the entire Tormenta FC side now prepare for a showdown against One Knoxville SC at 7:30 p.m. ET from Optim Sports Medicine Field at Tormenta Stadium on Friday, Sept. 1 (ESPN+).
