Tormenta FC hunting for first win of 2024 USL League One season
STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC hosts Forward Madison FC at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, March 16, in a showdown at Tormenta Stadium. The Ibises are looking to pick up its first win of the 2024 USL League One season in a bird battle against the ‘Mingos of Madison.
Forward Madison did not feature during the USL Kickoff weekend and will open its season at Tormenta Stadium Saturday night. Madison finished the 2023 season with an 11-11-10 (W-L-D) record, making the playoffs by just one point before being eliminated in the first round against Northern Colorado Hailstorm.
Tormenta FC is looking to pick up its first win of the 2024 season after losing its opening match to Central Valley Fuego 1-2 on opening night. South Georgia has everyone available for Saturday’s match after a USL panel rescinded defender Jake Dengler’s red card.
Head Coach Ian Cameron holds a 3-2-0 record over his counterpart, Forward Madison FC Head Coach Matt Glaesar. Last season, the two sides faced each other three times during the USL League One Regular season, and Tormenta FC came out victorious twice.
