Tormenta FC Launches Online Spanish Presence
First Team in USL League One to have Spanish Social Media and Website
With a name like Tormenta FC, it’s no wonder the club is the first in USL League One to implement a Spanish online presence for its Hispanic fan base. Tormenta FC has launched Spanish alternatives for all its social media accounts and website, with more initiatives and outreach to come. The club seeks to encompass its diverse fan base while creating opportunities and expanding Tormenta FC’s local and global footprint.
Spanish translations will now be available on Tormenta FC Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin. Also, a Spanish tab on the club’s website includes general club and academy information, as well as schedules for both teams and news.
“Soccer has a way of bringing communities together, and we’re excited to further this sentiment and engage with even more fans locally and around the world through our new online Spanish initiatives,” Tormenta FC owner Darin Van Tassell said. “While this is a big step for Tormenta FC, it is just the beginning as we work to break down barriers, elevating and growing Tormenta Nation as we go.”
In addition to the new Spanish online presence, Tormenta FC will continue to use its non-profit organization, The Ibis Foundation, and Tormenta FC Academy to build bridges. This will include the removal of obstacles, like the pay-to-play model.
The Ibis Foundation aims to create opportunities for youth in South Georgia through scholarships and accessible resources. Tormenta FC Academy, meanwhile, recently launched a fully funded youth soccer program, making professional play a reality for 48 boys and girls in the Statesboro area, who might not otherwise have the opportunity.
