Tormenta FC is pleased to announce the signing of midfielder Jad Arslan to its USL Division III team. After three years with Tormenta FC’s premier development team, Jad Arslan will join the franchise as it moves to the next level in 2019.
He served as captain for the 2018 PDL season where he played an essential role in the team’s undefeated regular season and its first Deep South Division Championship title.
“Signing Jad Arslan was a priority for our club,” said Coach Miglarese, vice president of Player Development.
“After three superb PDL seasons with us, he has more than earned a chance to be a professional player with Tormenta FC,” Miglarese said. “His versatility, energy, and ability to change games will surely help us in our first season. I’m delighted to have him with us as we move into USL D3.”
Arslan is from Roswell, Georgia where he grew up playing for Georgia United youth soccer. He graduated from West Virginia University in December 2017 with a degree in General Business. Arslan played for the WVA Men’s Soccer Division I team, placing in top five for the Mid-American Conference and ranking in the top 100 in the nation. He also made the All-First Team his sophomore and junior years.
During Arslan’s three years in the PDL, he made three appearances on PDL Team of the Week and placed 33rd on the PDL’s Top 50 Players list.
“I am thrilled and extremely blessed to have signed with such a professional organization like Tormenta FC,” Arslan said. “We’ve come a long way since our inaugural PDL season in 2016, and it’s an amazing feeling to be a part of something so monumental in U.S. Soccer like the introduction of USL D3. Tormenta feels like home and can’t wait to see what the future has in store.”
