Jerry Saint-Vil has signed to Tormenta FC’s 2019 USL League One team, pending league and federation approval. Saint-Vil was an integral part of the team’s undefeated regular season and Deep South Division title in 2018.
The 6’2”,183-pound defender comes from Port-au-Prince, Haiti where his father enrolled him in a soccer academy at age four. He hasn’t stopped playing soccer since and got the opportunity to play for both the U17 and U21 Haitian national teams in 2010 and 2014.
“Jerry is a versatile, left-footed, defender who can play left back or center back,” head coach John Miglarese said. “He put together some very strong performances this past summer in important matches.”
“Not only is he a talented player with a high ceiling, but he is also a fantastic human being,” Miglarese said. “He is ready to make the jump into USL League One and is a great addition to our team.”
Saint-Vil graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University in May 2018 with degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science. While playing at PBA, he made the NCCAA South Region First Team, the Sunshine State Conference Second Team, the D2CAA All-South Region Second Team and the All-South Region United Soccer Coaches Second Team in 2017.
In addition to experience with Tormenta FC and the U17 and U21 Haitian national teams, Saint-Vil played for both the Southern West Virginia King’s Warriors in 2016 and the Palm Beach Suns FC in 2017.
“It is a great privilege to continue my soccer career with Tormenta FC,” Saint-Vil said. “The organization is growing every day and it’s a blessing to be a part of that. We are chasing a USL League One championship next year, and I know we will give everything to get it.”
