Tormenta FC Match Against Richmond Kickers Ends in a Standstill
Tormenta hit the road for the first time this season, going into its third match in eight days, facing the Richmond Kickers in City Stadium. The Richmond Kickers were vying for their first win and Tormenta FC aimed to keep their winning momentum going, but despite both club’s efforts, the match ended tied 0-0.
Throughout the match, both teams had strong possession of the ball and many chances for goals without any luck, including Charlie Dennis’ close shot off a free kick in the 44th. The Tormenta boys picked up speed in the second half, putting increasing pressure onto Richmond, fighting for a goal to put them over the top. In the 57th, Alex Morrell subbed on, making Tormenta a larger threat going forward in the rest of the match. Richmond stood their ground though, and the match ended 0-0. Despite the tie, Tormenta FC remains on top of the League One standings with a total of 7 points.
“I think we worked really hard tonight and grinded it out, earning a point which I’m happy with,” head coach John Miglarese said. “We weren’t at our best tonight, but we found a way to get a result on the road. That takes some courage, but also shows we need to get better.”
Tormenta FC’s next match is also on the road, against Orlando City B on April 14 at 5 pm EST.
