South Georgia’s Antley Voted League One’s Player of the Month
Recorded two goals, three assists in opening five weeks of inaugural campaign
TAMPA, Fla. – South Georgia Tormenta FC defender Conner Antley has been voted USL League One’s Player of the Month for March & April as he recorded two goals and three assists to help Tormenta FC top the standings at the conclusion of the league’s opening five weeks.
One of the 11 players that turned professional with Tormenta FC after having helped the side to success in USL League Two in the 2018 campaign, Antley helped South Georgia claim three victories over the opening five weeks. Named the League One Player of the Week for his three-assist display against FC Tucson in Week 2 of the regular season, Antley currently leads the league in assists.
“It’s a really good feeling. There are so many good players in this league so to be nominated out of all of them is a special feeling,” said Antley. “I obviously couldn’t do this without my teammates or coaches believing in me, so I owe a lot to them, but the way we prepare for our opponents I think plays a part in why this team and myself were successful this past month.”
“The award for Conner is well deserved,” added Tormenta FC Head Coach John Miglarese. “He has put in some top performances over the past month and has helped the team earn some hard-fought results.”
Antley received 58 percent of a weighted poll that included the USL League One Technical Committee and an online fan vote held at USLLeagueOne.com. Forward Madison FC’s Ryan Coulter finished second with 19 percent after recording an 88.2 save percentage on 15 saves, while North Texas SC’s Ricardo Pepi finished third on 12 percent as he recorded four goals to lead the league after its first full month.
