What (and Who) To Watch For:
Playing All 90 Minutes: An important part of this match will be how Lansing (LAN) plays down the stretch. Over the course of the season, LAN has given up fourteen goals through eight matches. Of those fourteen goals, NINE have come after the sixtieth minute. What makes things interesting is Tormenta has scored thirteen goals, twelve of which were in the second half. Several times over the course of the season, Tormenta came out in the second half, looking like a completely different team. This is something that Lansing might be nervous about with the numbers they have given up over the season.
Tormenta Finding Their Rhythm: Coming into this match, Tormenta is riding the wave of a three-match win streak. The boys in blue and magenta have won on the road twice and at home once since the tough loss to Chattanooga where three goals came in 9 minutes. Since that loss, Tormenta FC has switched to a 4-2-3-1 formation where they have found success. This formation allows for Josh Phelps and Daltyn Knutson to focus on the defensive efforts alongside Jerry Saint-Vil and Conner Antley.
Conner Antley: Not many players lead their teams in both goals and assists. Even less do it from the right-back position. Conner Antley has set the league on fire and rightfully so. So far in the League One campaign, Antley has bagged himself three goals and three assists. The USL League One Player of the Month has been a force to be reckoned with all season long. Keep on eye on the matchup of Antley vs. Nick Moon/Grant Stoneman on the right side of the pitch during this match. Whoever Lansing puts in Antley’s way will have their hands full.
