Tormenta 2 Conquers Charlotte Eagles 3-0 at Home
Tormenta FC 2 defeated the Charlotte Eagles tonight 3-0 at home and continued their consistent dominance in the USL League Two Deep South Division.
Curtis Thorn started the action off early with a close chance in the third minute, but Scottish midfielder Craig McCall followed through with the game winner in the twelfth minute from the front of the box. Tormenta 2 veterans Cadu Cusatis and Jordan Walshaw worked together to score goal number two in the twenty-ninth. Cusatis crossed the ball to Walshaw who took his chance and succeeded. Four minutes later, Luca Mayr’s corner ball went straight to Jamaican defender Zeron Sewell who scored a header, following with an impressive handspring backflip celebration.
This match puts Tormenta 2 at the top of the standings for the Deep South Division with a perfect 12 points in four matches and a goal differential of fifteen. SC United Bantams are right behind Tormenta 2 with 9 points in three matches but are eleven points behind in goal differential. Tormenta 2 also ranked first in the USL League Two Power Rankings this week after winning three straight matches 4-0. The boys play a second time this weekend in Erk Russell Park this Sunday, June 2 to face Dalton Red Wolves.
