Tormenta FC 2 Knocks Out Discoveries SC 4-1
Fortia Munts Scores Game-Winning Goal on his Starting Debut
Tormenta FC 2 brings home the gold against Discoveries SC 4-1 and continues its undefeated home record. This was Tormenta’s third and last meeting with Discoveries, who sit at the bottom of the Deep South Division.
Four goals were scored within the first half, a season-high for Tormenta 2. Spanish midfielder Fortia Munts made a successful starting debut tonight in Erk Russell Park, tallying the game-winning goal in the 10th minute and an assist for Jordan Walshaw in the 45th. In the 23rd minute, Tormenta veteran Cadu Cusatis bagged the second goal of the night, assisted by JJ Donnelly. In addition to an assist, Donnelly scored a beautiful goal in the 43rd, further solidifying the team’s strong lead.
In the 80th minute, Tormenta FC Academy player Grant Hampten entered the match for his second game of the season. Hampten is participating in Tormenta’s development squad this summer where he trains and plays alongside Tormenta FC 2.
This win gives Tormenta 29 points, keeping the team’s lead in the standings. Right behind Tormenta 2 is the SC United Bantams with 25 points. Tormenta 2’s next match will be against Dalton Red Wolves SC on July 9 at the Dalton facilities. The Dalton Red Wolves are third in the Deep South Division with 16 points.
