Shinya Kadomo Joins Tormenta FC on Loan from Loudoun United FC
Tormenta FC has acquired striker Shinya Kadomo from D.C. United’s USL Championship affiliate Loudoun United FC for the remainder of the USL League one season. He is immediately available for selection for today’s match against Lansing Ignite FC.
“Shinya comes highly recommended from the DC United staff,” League One head coach John Miglarese said. “He is versatile, creative, and a talented attacking player. I’m sure he will make an impact as we hit the final stretch of this season.”
Kadono was 72nd overall pick by D.C. United in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft, but signed with affiliate Loudoun United FC. In May 2019, Kadono was called up to D.C. United to play in a friendly against La Liga side Real Betis Balompie.
The striker is a native of Japan, but moved to the United States as a child and holds permanent residency, classifying him as a domestic player. Kadono attended the University of California and scored 20 goals and recorded three assists over four seasons for the Golden Beras.
“I’m very excited to start my new journey at Tormenta,” Kadono said. “I didn’t really need that much time to make my decision when I heard about the offer.”
“It’s my first year as a professional, so I think I need as many experiences as possible,” Kadono said. “When I heard about the team and the guys, I was so excited I took the offer right away.”
