STATESBORO, Ga. – USL League One has named South Georgia Tormenta FC defender Curtis Thorn the Player of the Week after leading Tormenta FC to a 2-1 victory, while goalkeeper Pablo Jara and midfielder Marco Micaletto also join Thorn on the Team of the Week. Thanks to their standout performances, Tormenta FC ended its winless run with a pivotal win against Fort Lauderdale CF at their home stadium.
In his second professional game, the English defender was named Man of the Match versus Fort Lauderdale for his equalizing goal in the 19th minute and his game-winning assist in the 62nd minute, while also creating two scoring opportunities. Defensively, Thorn won six duels, made five tackles and recorded four clearances while completing 80 percent of his passes.
