STATESBORO, GA – South Georgia Tormenta FC is working alongside the American Red Cross and Belfor to raise money for local disaster relief. A portion of each ticket for Tormenta FC’s home match versus FC Tucson on Wednesday, Oct. 7, will go back to the regional Red Cross to support local Disaster Relief efforts.
“Tormenta FC is proud to work with the American Red Cross as a growing partnership to help with their disaster relief efforts locally and across the country,” Todd Bergstrom, Tormenta FC Director of Sales and Services said. “We are excited to see this partnership grow and help those in need and aid in the disaster recovery of affected areas. We hope to see all of Tormenta Nation out at the game to help raise money, but if you can’t make it out, please consider donating as every dollar counts towards helping those who are displaced or injured by disasters.”
The American Red Cross provides emergency assistance, disaster response and recovery efforts including home fires, floods, storms, tornadoes and hurricanes.
“2020 has introduced a new obstacle, COVID-19, impacting how we serve our clients, but we haven’t missed a beat thanks to partners like Tormenta FC and Belfor,” said Maria Center, Executive Director of the Southeast and Coastal Region of the Georgia Red Cross. “Disasters don’t stop and neither does the Red Cross. Tormenta FC reached out to us, and we are grateful to have community partners who support our mission through fundraising and awareness.”
Belfor Property Restoration also joins the campaign, adding working knowledge about disaster response and recovery, and has pledged to match Tormenta FC’s donations up to $2,000. Fans who cannot come to the match can also donate to the Red Cross through Belfor here to make a local gift supporting Disaster Relief.
