STATESBORO, Ga. – After a breakthrough 3-1 win versus FC Tucson on Saturday, three South Georgia Tormenta FC talents have been named to USL League One’s Team of the Week, presented by Cleer Audio, for Week 4 of the 2021 regular season.
Defender Curtis Thorn and midfielders Adrian Billhardt and Kobe Perez all made appearances on Team of the Week after standout performances on the pitch against FC Tucson.
Thorn recorded an 89 percent passing success rate and even got forward as well to score Tormenta FC’s second goal of the night.
Billhardt was the driving force behind Tormenta FC’s much-improved attacking performance. The German led all players in successful dribbles (four) and duels won (10), and assisted Thorn’s goal in the 30th minute.
Perez came on as a substitute with 35 minutes remaining and Tormenta FC holding on to a one-goal lead. His presence solidified the South Georgia midfield, recording a game-high five key passes, including the assist on Marco Micaletto’s late goal.
Tormenta FC now embarks on a two-match road trip to take on the Richmond Kickers followed by North Texas SC, two challenging matchups. The club will then return to Erk Russell Park to battle regional rival Greenville Triumph SC on May 22.
Tormenta FC asks all fans to wear masks until the vaccine becomes more widely available. Due to limited capacity, the club urges all fans to purchase their tickets, including season tickets, half-season plans or quarter-season plans, in advance.
