STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC will travel to face off against the Richmond Kickers on Saturday, May 8, with the match set to kick off at 6:30 p.m ET at City Stadium in Richmond, Virginia. Tormenta FC’s stakes are high as the team looks to gain its first road win and build on its winning momentum.
Last weekend, Tormenta FC experienced its goal-scoring breakthrough with a 3-1 win over FC Tucson. Phelps, Thorn and Micaletto all found the back of the net during Tormenta FC’s third match of the 2021 USL League One season. “It’s going to take everything that every USL League One game needs,” TFC Head Coach Ian Cameron said. “It’s going to take a big effort. We’ve got to do all the things that we do really well and stop their strengths of which they have quite a few.”
Tormenta FC has 2-1-2 (W-L-D) all-time record against Richmond. Last season, Tormenta FC and Richmond tied 0-0 in the first meeting, while Marco Micaletto found the back of the net late into the second matchup to lead Tormenta FC to a 1-0 victory over the Kickers.

“They have good technical players,” defender Nick O’Callaghan noted. “It’s going to be really important to get pressure on the ball and not give their midfielders any time to find balls in behind, especially since we have a high line.”
Following Saturday’s matchup, the Statesboro squad will head to Texas and battle it out against North Texas on May 16th.
