STATESBORO, Ga. – In a tough match at Global Life Park in Arlington, Texas, tonight, South Georgia Tormenta FC was outscored by North Texas SC 2-1 with the club’s lone but incredible goal scored by Marco Micaletto.
Luca Mayr-Fälten was back on the pitch tonight after sitting out two matches due to an injury. Mayr-Fälten had several promising chances early on, first winning a free kick in the 15th minute in a perfect shooting position, followed by securing a corner kick and a shot from outside the box. Midfielder Ricardo Gomez and forward Azaad Liadi, who is still searching for his first goal of the season, also recorded shots in the first half.
In the 57th minute of play, Italian midfielder Micaletto scored a stunner from a distance to the top left corner, giving Tormenta FC a 1-0 lead. Unfortunately, North Texas followed suit with two more goals to solidify its first win in two matches.
Recording a total of eight shots and two on target, Tormenta FC was unable to even up the match in the final minutes, going down to North Texas on the road.
