STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC 2 has revealed the four nominees for the Tormenta FC 2 Player of the Month award for May, and the community will decide the winner. Gabriel Cabral, Chris Heckenberg, Michael Hornsby and Rodney Michael are on the ballot after strong performances throughout the team's first full month of USL League Two action.
Voting for the Tormenta FC 2 Player of the Month award will run through Thursday, June 3, at 11:59 p.m. ET, with voting permitted once per day. The winner will be determined via a weighted vote from the following three voting bodies:
- A fan vote (poll below) will comprise 60 percent of the poll.
- The Tormenta FC staff ballots will comprise 20 percent of the poll.
- Media ballots comprise 20 percent of the poll.
Voting results will be announced on Friday, June 4.

Gabriel Cabral, Midfielder: The talented Brazilian midfielder has tallied two goals and three assists, currently tied for the most across all of League Two, in three games to start the 2021 campaign. His ability to consistently find his teammates in dangerous positions and score on his own have impressed the coaching staff.

Chris Heckenberg, Midfielder: Named the Man of the Match following a strong showing in midfield on May 25, the standout midfielder has been a stalwart in the center of the field, combining with his teammates in attacking buildups and disrupting play when the team is not in possession. He is one of only two players to have played all 360 minutes of May action for the team and has also recorded one assist.

Michael Hornsby, Defender: The talented wingback has been electric working down the left wing and recently recorded two assists and earned Man of the Match honors on May 28. He has also appeared in all five May games for TFC 2.

Rodney Michael, Forward: The Sierra Leone standout has scored five goals, tied for the most across all of League Two, in five games played for TFC 2. Michael's goal-scoring abilities and combination play up front have helped vault TFC 2 to the top of the Deep South Division standings.
