STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC 2 kicks off its final home match of the 2021 USL League Two regular season on Tuesday, hosting the Charlotte Independence 2 at 8 p.m. ET from Erk Russell Park.
In the first meeting between the two sides, Charlotte earned a 2-1 victory at Manchester Meadows in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Alexis Ledoux scored South Georgia's only goal of that match and has scored a total of five goals so far this campaign.
Forward Gabriel Rodriguez has also scored five goals for Tormenta FC 2 in 2021, tallying one goal in the team's most recent match against the Charlotte Eagles on June 22.
TFC 2 enters the match 6-3-1 (W-L-T) and second in the Deep South Division, while the Independence 2 are third with a 4-3-4 record. Tormenta FC 2 is 3-1-0 all-time against the Charlotte side, winning two games at home.
Following the home showdown, Tormenta FC 2 will travel to North Carolina to play Asheville City SC in an important League Two regular season match at 7:30 p.m. ET Greenwood Field on Friday, July 2. Fans should purchase their tickets to Tuesday's home finale in advance.
