STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC 2 defeated Lionsbridge FC 2-0 tonight, therefore advancing to the USL League Two Southern Conference Semifinals. Forwards Gabriel Rodriguez and Michael Lawrence led the squad tonight with two goals, while TFC 2’s defense also performed well to earn a clean sheet away from home.
Tormenta FC 2 will now face The Villages SC this Sunday, July 18 at Townebank Stadium in Newsport News, Virginia, to decide who will advance to the Southern Conference Final next weekend. All matches will be streamed live on the Lionsbridge FC Facebook page.
Tonight’s Men of the Match, presented by Galactic Comics and Games, are goalkeeper Drew Romig and defender Mo Redjeb who helped Tormenta FC 2 earn a clean sheet versus a tough Lionsbridge squad. Romig stepped up to make several incredible saves, while Redjeb continuously applied pressure to Lionsbridge’s offense to deter scoring opportunities.
