STATESBORO, Ga. – After a strong showing against 2020 USL League One champion Greenville Triumph SC, South Georgia Tormenta FC midfielder Luca Mayr-Fälten has been named to League One's Cleer Audio Team of the Week for Week 15 of the regular season.
Mayr-Fälten was the driving force behind Tormenta’s incredible 3-2 comeback win against rival Greenville Triumph SC on Saturday. He assisted Marco Micaletto for South Georgia’s first goal, then scored the second himself moments later with a brilliant free kick. The Austrian also won 10 duels and completed three successful dribbles.
Mayr-Fälten joins Marco Micaletto, Kobe Perez and Curtis Thorn as players to have earned Team of the Week honors twice this season, while defender Lars Eckenrode, forward Azaad Liadi, goalkeeper Pablo Jara and midfielder Adrian Billhardt have earned Team of the Week honors once in the 2021 League One regular season.
Tormenta FC is excited to now return home to Erk Russell Park and host the Richmond Kickers on July 24 for Family Night with free student tickets, presented by Your Pie of Statesboro.
