STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC has revealed the four nominees for the Tormenta FC Player of the Month award for July, and the community will decide the winner. Pablo Jara, Marco Micaletto, Luca Mayr-Fälten and Joshua Phelps are all up for the award after a strong month of USL League One play with a clean sheet and a huge comeback win versus Greenville Triumph on the road.
Voting for the Tormenta FC Player of the Month award will run through Sunday, Aug. 8, at 11:59 p.m. ET, with voting permitted once per day. The winner will be determined via a fan vote. The winner will be determined via a weighted vote from the following three voting bodies:
- A fan vote (poll below) will comprise 60 percent of the poll.
- The Tormenta FC staff ballots will comprise 20 percent of the poll.

Voting results will be announced on Monday, Aug. 9.

Pablo Jara, Goalkeeper: Jara stayed strong between the sticks this month to help Tormenta to one clean sheet, two draws and a road win in July at the difficult Legacy Early College. The Chilean keeper made nine saves this month and recorded six clearances and two duels won. Jara is tied for third in USL League One for clean sheets with four and ranks third for saves with 41.
Luca Mayr-Fälten, Midfielder: Mayr-Fälten was a leader in the midfield in July, recording a goal and an assist during Tormenta’s comeback win against Greenville Triumph. The Austrian midfielder recorded 10 shots, seven crosses and seven scoring chances this month and is still ranked second in USL League One for chances created with a total of 32. Mayr-Fälten also won 19 duels on the defensive side.
Marco Micaletto, Midfielder: Micaletto scored three goals in July, half of the team’s goals this month. The creative engine also recorded an assist against the Richmond Kickers and a total of 12 shots and six chances created this month. Defensively, he won 16 duels while making five tackles and two interceptions.
Joshua Phelps, Defender: Phelps led the backline this month to a clean sheet and two draws, recording 18 clearances out of the box. The Australian center back also won 14 duels and recorded eight tackles and two interceptions. Offensively, Phelps made one shot.
