STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC has announced a front-office restructure as it prepares for exponential growth around the club. Amongst the front office movement, Aaron Cranford and Bryce Judy have been promoted to Senior Director of Business Operations and Senior Director of Soccer Operations, respectively.
Additionally, TFC Academy’s Lindsay Gray will now work closely with the club’s professional side as the Director of Annual Giving, bringing over six years of experience from TMX Finance. Tormenta FC also welcomes two new coordinator positions to its Communications and Community Relations department. Brian Evans joined the staff in June 2021 and will serve as the Coordinator of Digital Media and Events heading into the 2022 season. Edwin Pintor recently moved South after working with the Maryland Bobcats to join the Tormenta FC Front Office as the Coordinator of Public Relations and Engagement.
Todd Bergstrom will remain in his role as the Director of Corporate Partnerships, while Bernadette O’Donnell will remain as the Director of Communications and Community Relations.
“I know I speak for Netra Van Tassell and Jeff Spencer in saying how fortunate we are to be surrounded by talented professionals at Tormenta,” Tormenta FC Co-Owner and President Darin Van Tassell said. “There is no better time to go forward than the present, so restructuring our administrative roles of Tormenta FC will help the people that work here to push their talents to the next level.
“Bryce Judy earned the opportunity to manage the soccer operations for all of our divisions, and Aaron Cranford’s vision for the business operations side of the franchise combined to create an important sense of energy. Coupled with the renewed emphasis on the departments run by current Vice President of Tormenta FC Academy Brad Nein and current Technical Director Ian Cameron, the franchise has its best days in front of us.”
Cranford joined Tormenta FC in January 2020 as the Director of Marketing and brought extensive experience from his time with the United Soccer League and Lansing Ignite FC. There, the Chapel Hill alum helped launch the newly-formed League One and assisted with all things communications, public relations and social media.
Cranford will now oversee and manage all day-to-day business operations of the front office. This includes defining and implementing department strategies, monitoring sales and sponsorship performance and supporting the club’s digital marketing and social media, among other things.
“I’m thrilled with the opportunity to step into this elevated role and guide the front office towards success on the business side,” Cranford said. “I want to thank Jeff Spencer and Darin and Netra R. Van Tassell and look forward to leading the front office during an important stage in Tormenta FC’s history with the construction of the club’s new stadium in 2022.”
A native of Statesboro, Georgia, Judy has multi-league experience in soccer operations, from Orlando City SC in Major League Soccer to helping build Tormenta FC’s operations department since 2016 across the club’s four USL squads.
Judy will now oversee all Soccer Operations including gameday operations, travel, alumni relations, player contracts/registration and venue security. The West Georgia graduate will also ensure that the USL policies are met by acting as the club’s Team Administrator.
“I’m excited to be stepping into this new role with the club,” Judy said. “The opportunity to oversee the soccer operations for Tormenta FC with a new stadium on the horizon is an exciting time for both myself and the club.”
In 2022, Tormenta FC will field squads in every level of the United Soccer League: USL League One, USL League Two, USL W League and USL Academy, while also running an extensive Academy system throughout the region and its new 5,300-seat stadium set to open its doors to the public for the first time this upcoming season.
With numerous announcements coming, including schedule alignment and dates, player announcements, a kit launch and more, fans should download the Tormenta FC app and follow the club on social media to stay in the loop.
