STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC 2 has announced midfielder Henry Sach to its 2022 USL League Two roster, pending league and federation approval. Sach comes off a title-winning season at Tulsa University where he scored a penalty to help his squad clinch the All-American Conference championship.
“Henry is a cultured, yet tenacious central midfield leader who we are excited to have join our club this summer,” Head Coach Tom Morris commented. “He has a unique footballing background that has led to him understanding both the fine arts and the dark arts of the game.
“Henry played a key role in the heart of the midfield at the University of Tulsa this season, helping lead one of the program’s best-ever seasons which included a national tournament run. We are excited to have both his ability, and personality around the club this summer and are looking forward to helping him work towards his professional goals.”
In 2021, Sach was named the American Athletic Midfielder of the Year, as well as two-time AAC Defensive Player of the Week. In 18 starts for the Golden Hurricanes last season, the midfielder scored 2 goals and assisted three times.
Prior to Tulsa, the Spaniard started in 39 games for Richland Community College and led the team to back-to-back national championships in 2018 and 2019 with a 35-2-1 overall record. Sach tallied five goals and 10 assists for RCC, earning an NJCAA All American title and two appearances on the All-Conference First Team.
“First and foremost, I would like to thank the Tormenta FC coaching staff and organization for giving me the opportunity to grow as a player and person this summer,” Henry Sach commented. “I am very blessed and excited to get to work with my teammates and have a great season in front of our fantastic fans!”
Sach joins an exciting 2022 USL League Two roster with returner Alexis Ledoux and new faces like forward Bryan Illiohan, defender Milo Garvanian and goalkeeper Holden Trent.
The club looks forward to opening its new 5,300-seat stadium in Statesboro this year, which will serve as home to the club’s USL League One, League Two and W League squads, as well as Georgia Southern University Men’s and Women’s NCAA Division I soccer teams.
