STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC’s USL League One, League Two and W League teams will play their May and June home matches at Erk Russell Park, a total of 17 fixtures. The club is excited to make its new home a reality in 2022 as construction continues on Tormenta Stadium and the surrounding development.
The stadium lights and General Admission stands are fully installed and now stand impressively over Tormenta Way. The outline of Optim Sports Medicine Field is leveled and marked for the SubAir system that is currently being installed below the pitch.
In the next two months of construction, fans can expect the completion of the stadium’s drainage system and natural grass surface, as well as the addition of a temporary press box and temporary locker rooms. The installation of the field’s SubAir system will take approximately a month and will be followed by the irrigation system and sod.
As Tormenta FC continues a historic 2022 and transitions from Erk Russell Park to its new stadium, Tormenta Nation can ensure its presence at the new stadium by purchasing season memberships and Flex Ticket packages in advance.
