STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC 2 and East Atlanta FC battled it out at Erk Russell Park tonight with neither side giving way to a goal until JC Ngando broke the scoreless draw for the home side in the 82nd minute. With a final score of 2-0, Tormenta FC 2 earns its first win and first clean sheet of the season.
Tormenta FC 2 came out strong with its first shot on goal in the 11th minute. It was a battle for possession of the ball throughout the first half with both teams fighting to stand out and break away. The halftime whistle blew with a shot on goal recorded for either team and no goals to separate the two sides yet.
South Georgia added eight more shots on goal in the second half and nearly scored a goal in the 65th minute through a header by Alejo Binaghi, but the shot hit the far post.
Finally, in the 82nd minute, Ngando headed the ball perfectly over the East Atlanta keeper to bring the scoreline to 1-0. The midfielder continues his success after recording an assist in TFC 2’s opening match versus Tennessee SC.
Tormenta FC 2 wasn’t done just yet and doubled its score in extra time, thanks to a goal by midfielder Yazid Omri. Omri found himself behind the keeper and easily slotted the ball into the open goal. The shot was assisted by TFC Academy product Tristan DeLoach.
Tonight’s Player of the Match, presented by Galactic Comics and Games, is JC Ngando, who continues his in-form performances by scoring tonight’s first goal of the night. Ngando also brought constant pressure to the East Atlanta backline and created numerous chances for the TFC 2 attack.

In one week, Tormenta FC 2 will host Asheville City SC at Erk Russell Park on Tuesday, May 24, followed by hosting One Knoxville SC on Monday, May 30, with both matches kicking off at 7:30 p.m. ET.
