STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC 2 has announced defender Fuad Adeniyi to its 2022 USL League Two roster, pending league and federation approval. The defender from London brings experience and maturity to the defensive unit.
Adeniyi spent his collegiate years at the University of Mobile and the University of California Santa Barbara. With the University of Mobile, Adeniyi earned First Team All-League honors and helped the Rams win the SSAC Tournament. While with USCB, Adeniyi played 24 matches and helped the team make its seventh appearance in the Sweet Sixteen and its 12th overall in the NCAA Tournament. Ultimately, the USCB program fell to No. 2 Clemson University.
The defender has also suited up for Atlanta SC, AFC Ann Arbor, and had a stint with Finnish side Sporting Kristina in 2016.
Adeniyi joins Tormenta FC 2 ahead of its match on Tuesday, May 24, against Asheville City SC, kicking off from Erk Russell Park at 7:30 p.m. ET.
South Georgia’s pre-professional soccer team, Tormenta FC 2, has helped nearly 50 players achieve their professional dreams since 2015. TFC 2 finished its season as champion of the Deep South Division in 2018 before making a run to the League Two Semifinals for the first time in club history in 2019. In 2021, Tormenta FC 2 finished the season with a 12-4-1 overall record (10-3-1 in the regular season), qualifying for the League Two Playoffs for a third straight season.
