STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC heads into its second consecutive home game this Saturday, May 28, at 7:30 p.m. ET against FC Tucson. In the first encounter between the two sides in 2022, Tormenta FC brought all three points back home following a 2-0 win against FC Tucson on April 30.
Tormenta FC hopes to get back to winning ways following a loss at home last weekend against Central Valley Fuego FC. South Georgia knows getting points at home early in the season is crucial to hopefully brink the playoffs at the end of the regular season.
Although success at home hasn’t been seen early on, South Georgia’s impressive nine of nine points on the road can vouch for the team’s success thus far in the season. South Georgia’s bad day at the office last Saturday does not overshadow the fact that prior to that fixture, Tormenta FC had conceded only four goals. Tormenta FC also currently leads the league in clean sheets with four.
FC Tucson comes into the match with three consecutive defeats after postponing last Saturday’s game against the Richmond Kickers. The Tucson side will now look to end its losing streak this Saturday and get its first win against South Georgia of the season.
Tormenta FC is excited for a historic 2022 as it transitions from Erk Russell Park to Tormenta Stadium. Single-match tickets are live for advance purchase ahead of Saturday’s match. Supporters can also purchase season memberships or Flex Ticket packages to guarantee their presence at every home match this season.
