STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC 2 prepares for its fourth encounter of the 2022 USL League Two season as the squad hosts One Knoxville SC this Monday, May 30, at Erk Russell Park. Kicking off at 7:30 p.m. ET, Tormenta FC 2 looks to get back to its winning ways following a 1-1 draw against Asheville City SC last Tuesday.
On Friday, Tormenta FC 2’s last-minute equalizer against Asheville City SC helped the team stay undefeated through the USL League Two season thus far. However, a two-game week provides TFC 2 with an opportunity to get all six points. South Georgia currently sits sixth in the League Two South Central Division with five points and three games played (one win, two draws). Although Tormenta FC 2’s game against Asheville City ended in a draw, the gameplay and progression were in favor of TFC 2.
Tormenta FC 2 now welcomes One Knoxville SC to Statesboro for the first time following their introduction into the USL League Two system. Knoxville currently leads the South Central Division with nine points after three wins and a defeat.
South Georgia’s pre-professional soccer team, Tormenta FC 2, has helped nearly 50 players achieve their professional dreams since 2015. TFC 2 finished its season as champion of the Deep South Division in 2018 before making a run to the League Two Semifinals for the first time in club history in 2019. In 2021, Tormenta FC 2 finished the season with a 12-4-1 overall record (10-3-1 in the regular season), qualifying for the League Two Playoffs for a third straight season.
