STATESBORO, Ga. – After a nail-biting first encounter at Erk Russell Park, South Georgia Tormenta FC 2 travels to Asheville City SC this Monday, June 6, at Memorial Stadium at 7:30 p.m. ET. A comfortable 2-0 win against Peachtree City MOBA saw Tormenta FC 2 conclude its five-game homestand and now are on the road for the next five matches.
Tormenta FC 2’s win last Thursday saw JC Ngando continue to rack up his goals, now having scored three goals in five games for Tormenta FC 2. Bryan Iliohan scored his first goal for Tormenta FC 2 in the 2-0 win over MOBA. South Georgia currently sits fifth with eight points in the South Central Division with five games played (two wins, two draws one loss).
In 2021, Tormenta FC 2 held Asheville City SC winless with two dominating 4-0 and 3-0 results, one on the road and one away. Tormenta FC 2 took on Asheville City SC earlier in the season, ending in a 1-1 draw with a last-minute equalizer from Mutaya Mwape to remain undefeated against the North Carolina side.
Asheville City SC host Tormenta FC 2 seeking to find its first win against the South Georgia side. A dominating 6-0 win against Peachtree City MOBA last Saturday has team spirits at an all-time high. Asheville currently leads the division with 13 points.
South Georgia’s pre-professional soccer team, Tormenta FC 2, has helped nearly 50 players achieve their professional dreams since 2015. TFC 2 finished its season as champion of the Deep South Division in 2018 before making a run to the League Two Semifinals for the first time in club history in 2019.
