STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC 2 has announced the four nominees for the Tormenta FC Player of the Month award for May, and the community will decide the winner.
Defender Salvatore Mazzaferro and midfielders Mutaya Mwape, JC Ngando and Henry Sach are all up for the award after exceptional performances throughout the month of May. Tormenta FC went 1-1-2 (W-L-D) in USL League Two play this month with eight goals scored.
Voting for the Tormenta FC 2 Player of the Month award will run through Thursday, June 9, at 11:59 p.m. ET, with voting permitted once per day. The winner will be determined via a weighted vote from the following three voting bodies:
- A fan vote (poll below) will comprise 60 percent of the poll.
- The Tormenta FC staff ballots will comprise 20 percent of the poll.
- Media ballots comprise 20 percent of the poll.
Voting results will be announced on Friday, June 10.
Player of the Month Nominees:
JC Ngando, Midfielder: Ngando showed out throughout the month of May, outplaying his opponents and leading the TFC 2. The French midfielder scored two goals and was a menace to every defense he faced.
Salvatore Mazzaferro, Defender: Mazzaferro was a leader on and off the pitch and helped TFC to one clean sheet this month. The defender impressed in multiple positions and was strong with or without the ball.
Mutaya Mwape, Midfielder: Mwape showed his high-level skill this month to kick off the USL League Two season and was involved in three goals, scoring once and assisting twice. Mwape also created multiple chances from set pieces and free play.
Henry Sach, Midfielder: As team captain, Sach led the squad through training, video analysis, team building and games. The Spanish midfielder also led the team through adverse moments on the pitch.
