STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC 2 continues its 2022 USL League Two season, traveling to Dalton, Georgia, to take on Dalton Red Wolves SC this Saturday, June 11, at Lakeshore Park. Kicking off at 7:30 p.m. ET, Tormenta FC 2 regroups following a 2-1 defeat at Asheville City SC; Former Tormenta FC Academy player Tristan DeLoach scored his first goal for TFC 2 last Monday night.
South Georgia visited the South Central Division’s number one, Asheville City, last Monday and now visits number three Dalton Red Wolves, looking for its first road win. Tormenta FC 2’s record against Dalton favors the Statesboro side. With three wins, one loss and one draw against the Red Wolves, Tormenta FC 2 knows how important it is to get three points and fight for a playoff spot.
Tormenta FC 2 currently ranks sixth in the South Central Division with two wins, two draws and two losses in 2022. French midfielder JC Ngando leads the team in goals with three.
Dalton Red Wolves is having a year to remember. A 2-1 win at home against the SC United Bantams on June 7 has the team ranked third with three wins, two draws and three losses. With eleven points, Dalton has a high possibility of chasing down One Knoxville and Asheville City who currently sit first and second in the division.
South Georgia’s pre-professional soccer team, Tormenta FC 2, has helped nearly 50 players achieve their professional dreams since 2015. TFC 2 finished its season as champion of the Deep South Division in 2018 before making a run to the League Two Semifinals for the first time in club history in 2019. In 2021, Tormenta FC 2 finished the season with a 12-4-1 overall record (10-3-1 in the regular season), qualifying for the League Two Playoffs for a third straight season.
