STATESBORO, Ga. – After impressing during the U.S. Soccer Youth National Team Identification Center on March 24 in Atlanta, Georgia, Tormenta FC Academy 2008 players Osmar Martinez and Eder Chavelas have been invited back to attend the next U.S. Soccer YNT Identification Center in Columbia, South Carolina, on Tuesday, June 14.
“Words can’t express how delighted we are for Eder and Osmar to once again be invited to attend a USYNT ID camp. Playing at Tormenta opens many doors for our players and this is yet another example of the benefits of being at our organization. Those boys have had excellent experiences here with our club this year and their good fortune still continues. We wish them luck and as always, Vamos Tormenta!”
Stefan King. Tormenta FC Academy Director of Coaching
Martinez has also been selected to play in the MLS Next Showcase Best of the Best game in Dallas, Texas, happening from June 25 to July 3. Martinez is only one of 22 players from across the country in his age group selected for the game. Martinez is the second TFC Academy player to earn this honor after Schafer Gottlieb competed in the Best of the Best Showcase in December 2021.
