STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC’s three-game unbeaten streak ended tonight following a thrilling match against reigning USL League One champion, Union Omaha. A goal from Adrian Billhardt and an own goal in the 90th minute were not enough to get a positive result on Saturday night. A tremendous effort from South Georgia had Omaha working for the result until the final whistle.
In the 17th minute, South Georgia earned its third goal of the season at home after a low cross was placed into the middle of the box, finding a lone Billhardt at the penalty spot. A clear shot beat the goalkeeper, who dove the opposite way.
In Jara’s 100th game for Tormenta FC in all competitive competitions, Jara was able to stop several shots by the opposition. However, a colossal save in the 21st minute was essential to keeping momentum for South Georgia.
Shortly after, Omaha’s JP Scearce was able to get the equalizer after getting a Jara rebound.
Ten minutes into the second half, a penalty kick was called against Tormenta FC. As a result, JP Scearce was able to get his second goal of the match.

South Georgia was able to apply pressure in the final minutes of the match with a Cabral free-kick goal that was deflected by a defender, resulting in a Union Omaha own goal.
Tonight’s Player of the Match presented by Galactic Comics and Games is Gabriel Cabral.
