STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC 2 travels to Conyers, Georgia, this Sunday, June 26, to take on East Atlanta FC following three consecutive wins on the road. With three previous encounters between both teams, TFC 2 has reigned victorious once over East Atlanta. The Statesboro side is keen on adding a fourth consecutive victory on the road.
Every point is necessary in a competitive South Central Division to keep playoff aspirations alive. Following three consecutive wins against Dalton Red Wolves, SC United Bantams, and most recently, Southern Soccer Academy. TFC 2 was able to get the job done in Marietta last week with a 2-1 win at SSA. Goals from Dominik Kurija and Jalen James were sufficient to bring the three points home. South Georgia currently sits third with seventeen points in the South Central Division with nine games played (five wins, two draws, two defeats).
To note, Tormenta FC Academy product Aiden Miller will be on the 18-man roster, making him available for selection against East Atlanta FC.
East Atlanta FC hosts Tormenta FC 2 following a 3-2 loss at SC United Bantams. East Atlanta currently ranks last in the division with three points.
South Georgia’s pre-professional soccer team, Tormenta FC 2, has helped nearly 50 players achieve their professional dreams since 2015. TFC 2 finished its season as champion of the Deep South Division in 2018 before making a run to the League Two Semifinals for the first time in club history in 2019. In 2021, Tormenta FC 2 finished the season with a 12-4-1 overall record (10-3-1 in the regular season), qualifying for the League Two Playoffs for a third straight season.
