STATESBORO, Ga. – After 27 days on the road, South Georgia Tormenta FC 2 returns for its second to last home game of the season to take on Southern Soccer Academy (SSA) following four consecutive wins on the road. Two weeks ago, TFC 2 took three valuable points at SSA with a 2-1 win. Goals from Jalen James and Dominik Kurija helped South Georgia continue its tour of wins.
Following four consecutive wins against Dalton Red Wolves, SC United Bantams, Southern Soccer Academy, and East Atlanta FC, TFC 2 secured a statement 3-1 win at East Atlanta FC, which continues to assert Tormenta FC 2’s dominance throughout the state of Georgia. Goals from Frenchmen Alexis Ledoux and JC Ngando alongside Owen Marshall sealed a one-sided win at East Atlanta on Sunday. South Georgia currently sits third with twenty points in the South Central Division with ten games played (six wins, two draws, two defeats).
A win today could see Tormenta FC 2 share points (23) with second place Asheville City SC. However, Tormenta FC 2 would still be third due to goal difference.
Southern Soccer Academy travels to Statesboro after falling to Dalton Red Wolves on the road 2-0. SSA currently ranks seventh in the division with eleven points.
South Georgia’s pre-professional soccer team, Tormenta FC 2, has helped nearly 50 players achieve their professional dreams since 2015. TFC 2 finished its season as the champion of the Deep South Division in 2018 before making a run to the League Two Semifinals for the first time in club history in 2019. In 2021, Tormenta FC 2 finished the season with a 12-4-1 overall record (10-3-1 in the regular season), qualifying for the League Two Playoffs for a third straight season.
