STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC seeks to continue its undefeated streak on the road as they head west to take on Central Valley Fuego FC for the second time in club history. With injured players returning, South Georgia has a significant opportunity to get back in the win column. Tormenta FC takes on Central Valley this Saturday, July 2, at Fresno State Soccer Stadium, at 10:30 p.m. ET. Three points separate South Georgia from a playoff position. A win on the road would have South Georgia fighting for a playoff position twelve games into the season.
Two complex challenges at home helped South Georgia understand where improvement is needed. Four goals at home in two matches is a massive improvement considering no goals had been scored at home before these two matches. South Georgia faces an inconsistent team with no identity on the field, learning through their first year. Tormenta FC has recovered several players back from injury and will have a more reinforced offensive unit this Saturday.
While South Georgia is winless at home, Tormenta FC has been impeccable on the road. Tormenta FC is one of the most dangerous teams on the road, with three wins and two draws.
Central Valley put in a perfect shift last time both teams faced each other. A 0-4 win in Statesboro gave them their third win of the season. However, with an inconsistent side at home, Central Valley faces a difficult challenge this Saturday as Tormenta FC comes to town looking to reunite with a win on the West Coast.
Following Saturday’s match, Tormenta FC will host the Chattanooga Red Wolves SC on Saturday, July 9, at Erk Russell Park, at 7:30 p.m. ET.
