STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC 2 has announced Carter Payne as the Player of the Month for Tormenta FC 2. On and off the field, Carter pushed his teammates, coaches, and Staff members to do better; “don’t stay stuck” would always be the motivational phrase used by Carter, which helped him be one of the best players to play for our organization. Payne’s short but memorable and inspirational time here at South Georgia Tormenta FC will live on forever.
Although Carter was a member of the 2022 Tormenta FC 2 squad, Carter trained consistently with the first team throughout the summer, looking to earn himself his first professional contract. Carter would always cheer on his Tormenta FC teammates in its W League and USL League One home fixtures. He embraced the Tormenta way in the best way possible and would always be proud to represent the navy and magenta.
Although not with us physically, Carter was an inspiration to every Tormenta FC W League team member, and his iconic number two jersey went with them throughout its entire playoff journey, from Miami to Greenville and Minnesota.
To the Payne family, you will forever have a home at South Georgia Tormenta FC. Thank you for allowing us to create memories with Carter David Payne this summer. Carter will live on through the beautiful game where he will be an inspiration to many kids in South Georgia who will chase the same dreams Carter had through the Carter Payne Fund.
