STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC travels to Colorado to take on the Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC this Saturday, August 6, at Severance High School, at 9 p.m. ET. For the second time this season, Tormenta FC takes on the Hailstorm FC after a draw in its encounter earlier this season. Following its first season loss on the road in Madison, South Georgia recovered from the loss with a 1-3 win against League One leader Triumph SC.
South Georgia will take on the Hailstorm for the second time in club history after stepping into a physical environment the first time around. Captain Pablo Jara stepped up to the occasion after a saved penalty kick in the 36th minute of that encounter. South Georgia’s Adrian Billhardt found Adjei, who beat the defensive line and goalkeeper, to finesse the ball into the back of a lone goal.
South Georgia’s stride in July saw it obtain four wins, one draw, and a loss. Wins against Central Valley Fuego FC, the Chattanooga Red Wolves, North Carolina FC, and most recently, the Triumph SC have placed the team in the third position of the League One table with 27 points.
A pivotal part of South Georgia’s success has been the offensive unit. Kazaiah Sterling and Gabriel Cabral stand out after a productive month where the offensive unit scored a season-high of thirteen goals. Additionally, Sterling and Cabral are League One Player of the Month Nominees.
Tormenta FC is excited for a historic 2022 as it transitions from Erk Russell Park to Tormenta Stadium. Single-match tickets are live for advance purchase ahead of Saturday’s match. Supporters can also purchase season memberships or Flex Ticket packages to guarantee their presence at every home match this season.
