STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC fell to Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC for the first time in club history this Saturday night, with the home side earning a 2-0 result. South Georgia was able to be the better team throughout the first half; however, a re-energized Hailstorm side was able to control the tempo of the second half to get two goals and seal its sixth win of the season at its third home venue.
South Georgia could not break the Hailstorm FC defensive line tonight, which put in a valiant shift to keep a clean sheet in tonight’s game. In the first half, Cabral had one of three shots on target tonight for Tormenta FC. Cabral found a rebound following a shot from Roberts. The shot hit the crossbar, alleviating any danger for the Hailstorm defense.
Hailstorm FC produced more chances in the second half, and goals finally came in the 61st minute and 82nd minutes to hand the Colorado side its sixth win of the 2022 campaign
Tonight’s Player of the Match, presented by Galactic Comics and Games, is Gabriel Cabral. Despite the loss, Cabral helped maintain order throughout the midfield and had one of the few clear opportunities for South Georgia tonight. Additionally, Cabral ended the match with an 87% passing accuracy.
