STATESBORO, Ga. – For a second time this season, South Georgia Tormenta FC Head Coach Ian Cameron has been named USL League One Coach of the Month for July after guiding his team to four wins, one draw and one defeat in league play while obtaining the highest tally of points in League One play with 13. Cameron also guided Tormenta FC to its first two wins at home and its biggest ever comeback against Greenville Triumph SC on July 13.
Ian Cameron has acknowledged his team after winning League One Coach of the Month.
“The boys made ground in July, topping the league in points accrued over that period. The key is putting back-to-back months together, and we have work to do in August to maintain the position they have achieved. It’s the business end of the season, and USL League One has produced an incredible league in terms of congestion. Multiple teams will be having conversations about how to mount a title challenge, and our boys have placed themselves in the hunt.”

South Georgia began its month with a win on the road against Central Valley Fuego FC and backed up its performance by obtaining its first win of the season against Chattanooga Red Wolves SC the following Saturday. With three games in seven days, Cameron led his team to a historic 5-5 comeback at home against the Triumph, then traveled to Madison, where the team saw its lone defeat of the month.
Two consecutive victories against NCFC at home and against the Triumph on the road ended a productive month of July for South Georgia. Finally, Cameron saw his side claim a fourth consecutive win from Triumph Stadium at Legacy Early College against the Triumph.
