STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC takes the road for a fourth consecutive match and now travels to Richmond, Virginia, ahead of its Week 24 fixture against the Richmond Kickers this Wednesday, Sept. 7, at City Stadium at 6:30 p.m. ET.
For the second time this season, Tormenta FC visits the Kickers after obtaining a 2-2 draw on June 4. South Georgia looks for a win to continue climbing up the League One table in the final stages of the regular season.
In a battle between third and fifth in the current standings, South Georgia looks to build on two consecutive road victories against Central Valley Fuego FC and Charlotte Independence FC. South Georgia now faces the Kickers, who are coming off a dominating win against current League One leader Union Omaha.
Last Saturday, South Georgia earned its second consecutive victory on the road after securing a 2-0 win against the Independence. Kazaiah Sterling and Kingsford Adjei scored the goals to help Tormenta FC earn its second win of the month.
With seven games remaining, Sterling is on the verge of breaking the all-time record for most goals scored throughout the regular season for South Georgia’s League One team. Former TFC midfielder Marco Micaletto holds the record with 11 goals scored in 2021. Sterling’s nine goals in sixteen games sees him average a goal every 119 minutes played.
Additionally, Adrian Billhardt is one assist away from equalizing Luca Mayr-Fälten and Marco Micaletto with the most single-season assists in club history (7).
