STATESBORO, Ga. – Following a 2-1 home win in the USL League One Quarterfinals against the Charlotte Independence, South Georgia Tormenta FC continues its road to silverware as it visits Greenville Triumph SC in the semifinals from Early Legacy Stadium (7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN+). With a healthy squad and one of the best records in League One, Ian Cameron and his squad head to Greenville looking to eliminate the Triumph from title contention and looking for the team’s fifth consecutive win at Early Legacy College and a spot in the 2022 USL League One Final, presented by Hisense.
South Georgia earned its first-ever win in the USL League One Playoffs after a 2-1 win against the Independence. Kazaiah Sterling’s brace sealed a second-half comeback for the home side, which obtained its second home win from Optim Sports Medicine Field at Tormenta Stadium.
South Georgia visits Greenville, South Carolina, for the third time this season. The first time around, South Georgia was able to get a 2-0 win; in the second visit to Early Legacy, the Statesboro side scored three on the home team. Despite the positive results for Tormenta FC in Greenville, the Triumph finished the regular season as one of the best teams in League One at home. In the last four games between Greenville and South Georgia at Early Legacy College, the Statesboro side has won four matches, with the last one coming on July 30.
