STATESBORO, Ga. – After dramatically eliminating the Greenville Triumph SC in the USL League One semifinals on Oct. 29, Tormenta FC now moves on to the USL League One Final against the Chattanooga Red Wolves SC on Sunday, Nov. 6 from Optim Sports Medicine Field at Tormenta Stadium in a late-night clash on ESPN2 and Sirius XM.
After a 1-0 win at Greenville Triumph SC last Saturday, South Georgia earned the right to host the League One Final against Chattanooga Red Wolves SC. Kazaiah Sterling’s lone goal nearing the end of the first half sealed the club’s fifth consecutive win at Early Legacy College. As a result, Tormenta FC reached the League One Final for the first time in club history after several years of competing at the professional level.

Tormenta FC won all two home matches against the Red Wolves in 2022 with a 2-1 win and a 2-0 win on the last matchday of the regular season to seal its spot in the League One playoffs. The Red Wolves won its home match against the visiting Statesboro side. Tormenta FC’s midfielder Kingsford Adjei leads the goal tally for Tormenta FC with two goals scored.

South Georgia earned its first-ever win in the USL League One Playoffs after a 2-1 win against the Independence and beating the Triumph SC on the road in the League One semifinals. Kazaiah Sterling’s goals have been crucial to Tormenta FCs playoff run as Sterling has scored all three goals. With a brace against the Independence and the lone goal in the semifinals, Sterling continues to prove why he is the most productive striker in League One.
