STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC forward Kazaiah Sterling was voted Tormenta FC Player of the Month for October. Sterling’s October saw him score Tormenta FC’s first goal in the USL League One Playoffs, netting a brace against the Charlotte Independence and the game-winner against Greenville in the League One semifinal.
The winner was determined via a weighted average from the following three voting bodies:
- A fan vote comprised 60 percent of the poll.
- The Tormenta FC staff ballots comprised 20 percent of the poll.
- Media ballots comprised 20 percent of the poll.
Sterling earned 48.33% of the total vote, with midfielder Gabriel Cabral coming in second with 29.17%. Defenders Jake Dengler and Joshua Phelps follow at 15.84% and 6.67%, respectively.

Sterling started the month of October with the equalizer on the road at Union Omaha. Following qualification into the League One Playoffs, Sterling was responsible for four of the five postseason goals. With four goals in the USL League One playoffs, Sterling became the all time leading goal scorer in League One Playoff history.
In 2023, the club will play its first season from Optim Sports Medicine Field at Tormenta Stadium in Statesboro, Georgia. Supporters should purchase tickets in advance to secure their spot at Tormenta Stadium and cheer on the USL League Two side and the reigning W League and USL League One champion Tormenta FC.
