STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC has announced today goalkeeper William “TJ” Bush has re-signed on a one-year deal ahead of the 2023 USL League One season, pending league and federation approval.
Following significant growth in 2022, Bush featured as the starting goalkeeper for Tormenta FC in the final half of the 2022 USL League One regular season and was also named the starter in the team’s first-ever League One Playoffs campaign. Bush first obtained the starting position on Aug. 20.
“I decided to re-sign because it still felt like there was unfinished business last year. I know our group is capable of a lot more. I am super excited to be returning a bunch of our core guys from last year, and can’t wait to get back out to training again.”

In the final stretch of the regular season, Bush helped Tormenta FC secure five wins and three draws. Bush also helped the team achieve a club-record points total (45) and win total (12).
In the playoffs, Bush saw action in all three games and helped South Georgia conquer its first-ever USL League One title.
Bush was drafted 80th overall by the Seattle Sounders FC in the 2021 MLS SuperDraft, a historic first for the James Madison University Men’s Soccer program. After being drafted, the Virginia native continued his collegiate career, recording 30 saves and five shutouts while only allowing four goals in his last season with the Dukes.
Tormenta FC fans can secure their seats at the new Tormenta Stadium ahead of 2023, with Season Tickets now available for purchase.
