STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC will face off against Central Valley Fuego FC for the second and final time in the 2023 USL League One regular season, as the two teams collide in an important contest on Wednesday, Aug. 9, at 7:30 p.m. ET from Optim Sports Medicine Field at Tormenta Stadium (ESPN+). Tormenta FC fell 2-3 to Central Valley in the first game between the two sides on May 20, 2023.
TFC enters Wednesday’s contest with a 7-10-3 (W-L-D) overall record, having lost its previous two matches by a 2-3 scoreline. The team will be looking to Kazaiah Sterling, who was recently named Tormenta FC Player of the Month for July, to continue his goal-scoring ways and hand the team its third home win of the season.
Meanwhile, Fuego FC enters the match with a 5-12-2 record, earning a point against Chattanooga Red Wolves SC in its most recent League One match. Central Valley has been led by Alexis Cerritos, who has a team-high three goals scored in 2023, but the visiting side will be looking at its bevy of talent to lead the team to its fourth road win of the season.
Following Wednesday’s fixture against Central Valley, Tormenta FC shifts its attention to a road matchup against the Charlotte Independence on Saturday, Aug. 12, at 7:30 p.m. ET from American Legion Memorial Stadium (ESPN+).
