STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC will be hosting Union Omaha in Tormenta’s final home game of the season. The match will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET at Tormenta Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 7. (ESPN+)
The Week 31 meeting will be the third and final regular season match between Tormenta and Omaha during the 2023 season. Omaha currently leads the season series winning both games played in Omaha.
Tormenta FC enters the game with a 12-13-5 (W-L-D) overall record following back to back shutout 1-0 victories against One Knoxville SC and the Richmond Kickers. Kazaiah Sterling scored the lone goal in the win over Richmond with a penalty in the 70th minute, adding to his team leading 13 goal tally for the season. Tormenta will be hoping to pick up their first win against Omaha ever in the midst of a playoff push.
Meanwhile, Omaha enters the match with a 17-5-8 (W-L-D) overall record, following a 4-1 win over Charlotte Independence. The league leaders are unbeaten since July 22 when they lost 3-0 on the road to Lexington SC. Omaha will be hoping to keep this run going against Tormenta on Saturday. This will be Omaha’s first visit to Tormenta Stadium since the stadium first opened on Oct. 1, 2022.
Following Saturday’s match, Tormenta FC will turn its attention to next Saturday, which will be a decisive weekend for the playoff picture. They take on Charlotte Independence at 7:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, Oct. 14, in Charlotte. (ESPN+)
